The mission of the Library Media Center is to serve the Shallowater Elementary School community in the following ways:

*Provide a safe, inviting, and nurturing environment that children love to visit.
*Promote a life-long love of reading, literature, and learning for both pleasure and for information.
*Provide quality resources for our children and staff in a variety of print and technological formats.
*Purposefully provide library skills curriculum instruction that also supports and enhances the TEKS.
*Assist the staff with classroom curriculum support in any feasible way.

This is my 3rd year working as the Elementary librarian and I absolutely LOVE my job! I enjoy reading children’s books as well as watching each of my students blossom into great readers. Please come by and visit our library sometime!

Do you have lots of kid’s books that you’re not sure what to do with now that your children are older? Clean out those closets and book shelves and help get those books into the hands of children who want them!

You can drop books off anytime at any of our four campus libraries.
