Art 1 |
This class is the first year of art for High School students. The goal of this class is to expose the student to many different areas of art. These include; painting, sculpture, calligraphy, art history, art careers, and photography. We do a basic introduction to as many areas of art as we can within the year. Advanced art explores these areas more in depth. | | |

Advanced Art - Art 2, Art 3, Art 4 |
In order to take Advanced Art the student must take Art 1 and make a grade of 80 or higher. Advanced Art consist of Art 2, Art 3, and Art 4. The content of these classes consist of more in depth study of areas introduced in Art 1. Advance Art students also work on Community art projects, art work for state and local art contest, and building an individual art portfolio. | | |

Cheerleading |
Shallowater High School elects cheerleaders every year in the spring (April or May). The JV cheerleading squad consist of 6 members who are sophmores (they try out at the end of the freshman year). The Varsity squad consist of 8 members who are seniors (they try out at the end of their junior year). The mascot tryouts are held a few weeks after cheerleader tryouts. Girls and boys who will be Seniors the next year may tryout for mascot. | | |

Golf |
The SHS High School Golf team plays approx. 5 tournments during the spring. The golf season begins in Feb. and goes through April. The High School golf teams consist of 10-12 boys and 10-12 girls. Jr High golf begins after track season ends. The Jr High team is open to girls and boys in the 7th and 8th grade.

Ruthless Red |
Ruthless Red is a group of Jr. and Sr. Boys. The group's main job is to set up and take down the run through tunnel at football games. They also participate in pep rallies and pep up the crowds at football games. They are known for their pushups everytime the Mustangs score. | | |
