Saturday, October 4 – SAT Test
Tuesday, October 14 – Tech Prep Career Expo at the Civic Center
All seniors will attend the Career Expo and have an opportunity to put their hands on potential careers. Interactive activities allow students to see, touch, feel, smell and taste a career that could be right for them. Educational entities are also close at hand to place students on the right path to pursue their occupational dreams. Chad Foster, a super motivational speaker, will speak to SHS seniors at 9:30 a.m. We will leave for the Career Expo around 8:30 a.m. that morning and return before lunch.
Friday, October 17 – Eastern New Mexico University recruiter at SHS
Celeste, the recruiter with ENMU, will be here to talk with interested seniors at 9:15 Friday morning, Oct. 17th. Remember that ENMU grants Shallowater students an out-of-state tuition waiver. It is a great school and a great price!

Scholarship applications are included on the online application for both of these universities and for many others. There are only a few extra steps and questions to apply for scholarships, yet many students don’t bother to do so. Texas Tech AND Texas A&M University both encouraged counselors to get our students to apply for scholarships through the application. This is where most scholarship money comes from! Go to
www.applytexas.org and begin your application today!
