GRADING POLICY
GRADING POLICY

1. Daily grades will count one time in the gradebook. The following is an example of assignments that are considered to be daily grades:
• worksheets assigned during class to reinforce learning or to guide reading
• quizzes given to check for understanding of concepts already taught
• participation grades to be given for the amount of participation during class discussions or group work:
• a grade ranging from 0 - 100 will be given based on the amount of
active participation or how much was contributed to the outcome
• points will be deducted if student fails to contribute or participate
or if students distracts from learning.

2. Major grades will count two times in the gradebook. These will include:
• Tests
• Projects: Oral Presentations and Visuals
• Early Work each six weeks

3. Extra credit is always available for any student who wants to improve his/her grade. It is the student’s responsibility to ask me about this.

4. In accordance with school policy, when a student is absent, he/she has the same number of days absent to turn in any missed work to receive full credit.

5. Also in accordance with school policy, if a student fails to turn in an assignment, the student will be assigned to tutorials or Thursday Night Live. The highest grade possible for the late assignment will be a 70.
